Kaffir / Makrut leaves, purchase in bulk amounts, grown in NZ.
Order fresh Kaffir Lime Leave in bulk amounts for restaurant or trade requirements.
Citrus hystrix, commonly known in English as Makrut or Kaffir Lime, is a fruit native to Indochinese and Malesian ecoregions in India, Nepal, Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, and adjacent countries. It is used in Southeast Asian cuisine.
Kaffir lime leaves are not the same as leaves from a regular lime tree. The leaves are widely used in Thai and Lao cuisine (for dishes such as tom yum), and Cambodian cuisine (for the base paste “Krueng”)
We have live trees able to produce year round. Generally Kaffir lime leaves can be purchased fresh, frozen, or dried – fresh is always better.
Kaffir Lime leaves freeze well.
So this is a great way to keep them. Take one or two out as you need them, then wrap up the package and return it to the freezer until next time.
- FREEZER – in zip lock bag for a year.
- DRY – keep in glass jar, will last a couple of years.
We send the order using standard NZ post. If you want the leaves to be delivered an alternate way please email or call us before or after your order and inform us how you would like the leaves sent to you. The order can then be adjusted to suit your delivery choice for you to make payment ie, if you would like to use a courier service.
